Apple has launched a very small and smart device named Air Tag with the help of which you can keep your belongings on your radar. A device that is the size of a coin, can easily fit into your wallet, keychain, or a necklace that you can put around the neck of your kid to keep track of them. As simple as it sounds. Connect an Air Tag to your iPhone via blue tooth, name it according to the object u are attaching it to e.g. Nina’s backpack, and put it in Nina’s backpack. Air Tag will highlight its exact location on your iPhone in case of misplacing no matter how far it was forgotten.
Now the question is how will Air Tag send a location to the connected iPhone which is far from its Bluetooth range. Air tag will get help from millions of iPhones in close proximity to send a secure signal via Bluetooth to any iPhone close to it. That device will send the signal to ICloud by Find My Network and you will be able to get that signal with Find My app through ICloud. As other iPhones get involved in the process, Air Tags are designed in a way that your private information is secured via encryption and won’t be disclosed to all those devices which become a medium for information sharing between you and the Air tag and it goes both ways. Devices that become a medium will also stay stealthy and anonymous. Even Apple can’t access the information. In close proximity like home or office, your phone itself will detect the location and show you the path to reach your belongings.
Air tag comes with a replaceable battery which works for a good 1 year approx. and your iPhone will notify you when it’s time to replace the battery. You don’t need to worry about the Air Tag if you are putting it in some place near water because it is water resistant.
